Product code: RARE Walter Bosse Pottery top Face - Vintage Original Bosse Kufstein Mid Century Tirolian Boy's Face Button Miniature Wall Mask

top Walter Bosse started out his life working in pottery, making animals and "grotesques" with their signature pierced eyes. Due to their popularity, he eventually opened his own store for his pottery works in the 1940s in Austria. He then later moved to brass and bronze, using his early pottery figures as models.

Excellent example of a rare Austrian pottery face button by Walter Bosse. This tiny face is very early for Walter Bosse, produced somewhere between 1924 - 1936. Model is of a Tirolian boy's face, done with the natural terra cotta color and glazed with a colorful hat, cheeks, smile and blonde hair. Marked "Bosse Austria" on the back with model #381.

Condition is excellent overall with some slight differences in glazing and coloration.

Last images shows a photo from Walter Bosse's book with a collection of his buttons, buckles and trinkets.

.95" wide x .25" deep
