The Mainstone Kiln (1979–1984) resided in Nashville, Tennessee
We really used this vessel to keep tea - It smells amazing !
Born in Boston, Massachusetts
Early mentors: Dennis Adkins of Dickinson College & Cynthia Bringle
Margaret received her BA in Art in 1978 from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania.
- That same year she went on to study Education at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine
- The next year she Continued her Education in Ceramics at Penland School of Crafts in Bakersville, North Carolina.
From the 1970s she worked tirelessly in clay forming friends and fans and filling top houses with useful and beautiful objects.
Skip ahead 3 decades when she decided to reenter academia
- In 2006 she grabbed a Masters (MEd Adult Education) from the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia
- and the very next year another Masters in Research (2009 - MEd Institutional Research) from Pennsylvania State University, State College in Pennsylvania.

- Known for wheel-thrown iron-rich stoneware utilitarian ceramics
- Including lamps, jars, and honeypots - a variety of functional wares
- Pieces are finished in earth-toned glazes
- Stoneware is fired in a high fire (2,350F) reduction kiln
- Work often features an iron speckling on the surface
