VICTORIAN LACE TRIM - top 3.75 yards of French black Chantilly extra wide lace trim circa 1890

3 yards and 34" of French black Chantilly lace 7.5" wide circa 1890.

The trim was made out of a combination of twisted silk threads and very fine wool threads, with patterns of flowers and rosettes over a large lace amour work. The top border is a pretty frieze of scrolls.

This piece is 2" short of 4 yards and could be used either for a dress or for a home decorating project.

At 7.5" the trim is extremely wide. It came as a remnant from a haberdashery store and as such is in perfect condition.
There is one mechanical default which can be seen in the last 2 photographs, in one of the swag order, which could be repaired with a small appliqué of trim taken from one of the ends if you so judge.
