top This unusual and one of a kind piece features the profile of of one of history's literary giants, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.

The original pendant was quite large, and solid bronze. I bypassed my stander MO and went ahead and cut Goethe's face out of the piece entirely. The final product is just over one inch in height, and just under one inch in width. See obverse photo, next to US quarter.

I had never seen this medallion before I found this one, nor have I seen another since. It may well be the one and only example of its kind in this world.
