Cruikshank's Comic Almanack Two-Volume Set, 1912
Listed is a two-volume set of Cruikshank's Comic Almanack. Both volumes contain tons of "merry tales, humorous poetry, quips, and oddities" all by Thackeray, Albert Smith, Gilbert A'Beckett and the Brothers Mayhew. Most of the illustrations are by George Cruikshank.
The books include humorous comics and stories from the years 1835-1853 (1835-1843 in volume 1, 1844-1853 in volume 2). top They also include several pull-outs. The books are wrapped in red cloth covers with gold gilt engravings on the spine--if the fun drawings aren't enough of a draw, they'd also make lovely decorative pieces in a library or study area.
The set is in good condition. The corners of both volumes are bumped (pictured above) and the spines are cracked, making some of the pages loose. There's some wear and discoloration along both of the spines as well. There may be some stray pencil markings on some pages, but there doesn't appear to be any marks that interfere with the text in either of the volumes.
Please look at all of the provided photos to fully assess the product's condition!
Measures approximately 5'' x 7 1/2'' x 1 1/2'' (both volumes).
