A lovely antique autograph album belonging to Stella R. Foote, who lived in East Charlotte, Vermont. This autograph album was given to her top by her Mother on December 24, 1904. She attended Castleton State Normal School, taking teaching classes, and many of these autographs are from her fellow students as well as some of her family.

Stella's first teaching postion was at the District #7 school in Cornwall, Vermont which was a far distance from her home so she boarded with the Payne family, which was the closest farm to the school. There she meet her futher husband, Alfred Payne, marrying two years later. They had three sons and although another pregnancy would be harmful to her health she died a few hours after the birth of a son, on October13, 1924.

Stella's parents names; Father: Darwin Orson Foote, 1862-1948, Mother: Florence Gertrude Gove Foote 1866-1940. Siblings; Floyd Clarence Foote;1890–1973, and Ruth Hazel Foote Norris; 1899–1946.

The antique album is a dark olive green fading to a lighter shade and decorated with flowers and leaves which are gold gilt. There is wear to the spine and the pages have slightly darken from age. The album measures; 4 3/4" x 7 3/4".

A very special antique album filled with beautiful sentiments for Stella Foote whose family has a long history in Vermont.
