Holocaust Remembrance cross: Yellow Star top of Babi Year

Over the years, this cross has been on display at various locations including the Carr Center in Detroit. It was not always for sale as it has been very special to me as a memorial item. I don't know if it is because I am the great-great-granddaughter of a Rabbi, but I have long been haunted by the atrocities of the Holocaust and conscious of the lives lost and taken in it. They are held close.

This stark black, wooden cross nods to the atrocities of World War II, the souls of all the victims and allies who perished. The tag that hangs from it sites Exodus 20: 13, 15, 16. The cross comes with a copy of a poem about Babi Yar.

Appropriate for sitting shiva, this black cross is minimally collaged and austerely dressed. It is beveled, footed (on pedestal), and roughly 5x9 inches.

U.S. SHIPPING (a considerable portion of the cost) IS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE and partial proceeds will be donated to the Holocaust Memorial Center (Farmington, Michigan). It will be well padded and shipped as a fragile item, especially because of the nail and tag that hang from it that might otherwise be bent and torn off.
