Product code: English Sixpence Coin 1952 70th Birthday top

Rare 1952 Sixpence Coin, struck in London by the Royal Mint. Only one production run of sixpences in 1952.

Very Fine VF Condition.

On February 6th, 1952 King George VI passed away. In 1952 the Royal Mint has just one production run of sixpences, all shipped to Jamaica who were at that time using the sixpence. No sixpences were made in 1952 for the UK market.

The 1952 sixpence is extremely rare and we have just 2 coins available, both in excellent condition. This sixpences measures 19.2mm in diameter.

The coin was made from 1551 with the very last production in 1970. Though the sixpence remained as legal tender until 1980.
The nation's favourite coin for many generations, associated with good fortune. In Victorian times a sixpence was placed into the Christmas pudding, the person who found it was said to be lucky for the top whole of the next year.

Also the perfect gift for anyone born or with a special anniversary from 1952. Coin collectors will certainly appreciate such a rare coin in such fine condition.
