This is a lovely set of two vintage J.K.W. Decor Foreign Millson signed Fragonard small four inch square rimmed porcelain trays or trinket dishes made in Carlsbad, Bavaria. Josef Kuba established his porcelain decor business in Karlsbad, Czechoslovakia in 1930. After the German Occupation of WWII, Kuba reopened his business in Bavaria Germany and ran the company until his death is 1972, when his son Horst took over until finally shutting the top doors in 1989. Each elegant red porcelain tray depicts a colorful, detailed Rococo style garden scene featuring a courting couple serenading or dancing in the center along with the artist's signature, a gold gilt flower design in each corner and gold trim around the image and along the rim. The pieces are stamped on the back "Foreign Millson" with the "J.K.W. Decor Carlsbad" mark that was used by the company in the years between 1947 and 1952. The trays measure approximately 7/8" tall and 4 1/8" in diameter and are in good vintage condition with surface wear including scratches, tiny black flecks, wear on the gold trim and wear on the bottom rims, including stains and chips.
