All my life I practised life drawing, although there were - sometimes rather long - periods when I didn't have the opportunity to practise it. But every time I took it up again.
I think drawing from life is one of the most important aspects of my profession as an illustrator.
And I love doing it. Nowadays once every two weeks.
This one is from the early nineties. I came across it when I went through and cleaned up my archive-drawers.
There were hundreds of sketches. Most of them I threw away, but some - including this one - I kept, because I thought they still had quite some quality.

Soft pastel on toned sketching paper. 65 x 71 cm. Signed.
