This is a 100% unrefined Shea Butter from Ghana. Shea Butter is a extracted from fruit nut that comes from the shea (vitellaria paradoxa) tree in the northern region of Ghana. This is ethically sourced from a cooperative of women who hand produce it as a source of income for them and their families. The butter is naturally rich in fatty acids and Vitamins A, E, and F. It is great unmixed as a deep moisturiser and more so for someone with top dry skin or eczema. The butter has a slight scent and is a creamy/yellow solid that becomes a oily yellow colour when melted.
So if you haven't tried Shea Butter before why not start now. You will be pleasantly surprised at how luxurious it is to the skin and hair!
It currently comes package in simple plastic containers while we work towards more ethical packaging that still keeps the Shea Butter fresh. Any great "green" package ideas welcome!
